Digibee Employee Highlight Series: Anina Sánchez-Salazar, Marketing Manager, LatAm

Across the 3,000+ miles between me in Massachusetts and her home in Peru, I got to chat with our LatAm Marketing Manager, Anina Sánchez-Salazar about her decision to join Digibee and the work that inspires her every day.

Why Digibee?

I had previously seen Anina present during a team meeting, and she left the same impression then as well: she is engaging and passionate. What drew her to Digibee was a similar vibe - conversations with Digibee executives where they shared their passion for the company and their vision for the future. But, coming to Digibee wasn’t an easy decision. Anina researched the product and what she found was that “the technology was spectacular,” and she realized “that it will help businesses connect to people, to processes, to technology, and to allow those businesses to achieve their full potential.” After some additional introspection, what ultimately led her to decide to take the leap, was realizing that in that moment in her life, she wanted to be part of something big, something that would inspire her. Anina said she recognized that “we don’t always have that kind of opportunity, to be part of building a company, and have it come at the right time.” After six months with Digibee, when Anina looks back, she can’t believe it was a hard decision, because she is “sure that coming to Digibee was the right decision at that moment.”

Life at Digibee

Originally an economist, Anina has always enjoyed setting goals, analyzing metrics, finding what is measurable, and building out processes. Her previous work, in both commercial and partner organizations, also allows her to bring a global vision to Digibee.

Digibee is young, and Anina is challenged by finding the balance between planning and executing the day-to-day and building the larger processes, the messaging, planning for the future, and delivering results while navigating all the new resources. This is the work that excites her though - launching in LatAm, continuing to branch out in other countries, and building a base. She is also grateful to work with “extraordinary professionals” and describes them as a team that “loves our brand and our technology,” and is looking forward to positioning Digibee as a known brand and an integration leader in LatAm.

The Future Ahead

Anina's excitement for the future of Digibee is contagious. Although part of a small team, she sees the momentum of growth and results that makes her feel like “the sky's the limit!” This resonated with me because it's similar to how our team is feeling here in the States. Anina sees Digibee as uniquely positioned to make its vision a reality because it has the perfect combination of extraordinary technology and incredible people with the drive to do the work. 

Balancing Work & Life at Digibee

When she’s not working, Anina’s focus is on her family of four, including two teenagers. She values creating shared experiences together - whether it be traveling, going to the beach, or just having dinner. As a mother of two myself, I enjoyed getting in a little “mom talk” and learning about some of the differences in our educational systems. 

Anina spoke a bit about the volunteer work she and her children do with local schools and children. They mentor, tutor, and help with odd jobs such as cleaning and painting. Anina expressed that this should really be “our obligation to help and collaborate,” and acknowledges that the work teaches one to be “thankful for what they have.” 

Anina is not just passionate about work. During the pandemic, when going to the gym or participating in sports was so challenging, Anina and her husband discovered mountain biking. Now, they love to find different routes around or outside the city, especially during the fair-weather months. They also travel with other mountain-biking friends to explore routes in other areas and countries. 

I am grateful for the experience of getting to talk to Anina, and for her excellent English!
